Our heritage board shorts are made from SurfNylâ„¢ and do not have stretch. We recommend measuring your actual waistline or comparing with a pair of non-stretch trousers rather than using vanity sizing. Please refer to our detailed Size Guide for specific measurements.
What is the 'Birdie' Guarantee?
We take immense pride in our craftsmanship. Every Birdwell product is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for life. If your gear fails due to a construction flaw, we will repair or replace it at no cost.
How long will it take for my order to ship?
Standard orders typically process within 2-3 business days. Since many of our items are handcrafted in Santa Ana, California, shipping times may vary based on demand and carrier selection.
What is your return and exchange policy?
We accept returns and exchanges on unworn, unwashed items with original tags attached within 30 days of purchase. Custom or 'Bespoke' items are final sale and cannot be returned.
Can I customize my own pair of Birdwells?
Yes, our 'Custom' program allows you to select your preferred model, color, lace, and patch to create a unique pair of britches. Please note that custom orders require additional lead time for production.

To extend the life of your Birdwells, rinse them with fresh water after every surf. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and always hang dry. Avoid high heat and bleach to preserve the fabric integrity.
